Just some old broad

To all my new subscribers: welcome!

I am a 63-year-old natural-born American woman. My mother is a black American descendant of slaves, slave-owners, feather Indians and at least one German immigrant. My biological father was a famous journalist who was of the Luo tribe of Kenya. I was born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles; I live in LA right now.

Long-divorced, no children. I wanted some, but I’m old-school: I don’t believe in having children outside of marriage - and I learned that the hard way.

I’m a retired USAF/USAFR NCO who didn’t climb high in rank. Long story not related to any disobedience. I was active duty for almost 14 years, during which I had three career fields: Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, Germanic Cryptologic Linguist, and Slavic (Russian) Cryptologic Linguist. As a reservist, I was an Aeromedical Services Technician (EMT).

I have blogged since 2003 as baldilocks; former platforms: Typepad and Blogspot. I switched to the Substack format because I can reach more people and earn money.

I’ve been rolling in the dough and broke. Mostly broke. I’ve lived beautiful homes and been homeless.

I’m a published novelist.
