Of course, the time is limited and therefore if you do not ration it you risk wasting it. And I see no more more wasteful expenditure of your time than allowing others, especially malevolent others, control over it. So it's important to always keep a part of you detached, overseeing the big picture. Is it worth the expenditure of time feeding the trolls? Or are you permitting them to steal your time?
