Very good Juliette. I have seen a few Christian conservatives worry about the fact of a non Christian prayer or two at the convention. It saddens my heart. True, America was founded mostly by Christians, or those who said they were. I remember Rhode Island was a state open to those of other religions, mainly those were Christians of other than the allowed state religious denominations, but I would never want our country to have a state religion. Jesus went among the washed and the unwashed, and I think as a country, re religion, we can do that too. How else will they be reached?
Dan Bongino draws a similar picture using an episode of The Walking Dead where characters voluntarily walk into a prison because they fear what's on the outside more than being trapped on the inside.
I have long wondered how it is that Hondurans, Salvadorans, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans seeking "asylum" (government bennies , actually) at our border make that arduous journey when a relatively prosperous, politically stable and safe, for now, Costa Rica is either just across the border from them or considerably closer than the US.
Not to mention that Costa Rica is culturally and linguistically similar, therefore providing ease of assimilation.
If one is solely focused on "asylum" out of credible fear of "persecution" in one's homeland, doesn't international asylum convention actually REQUIRE the seeker to lay claim in the first nation out of harm's way.
Having been in Costa Rica a few times I am puzzled why it doesn't seem to be a frequent destination for refugees from other Hispano-American failing states.
The left absolutely refuses to admit a difference between legal and illegal immigration. Don't let them get away with it, don't fall for their BS games.
Great commentary. I also find it interesting that some liberal women believe importing Muslims will help advance Feminism and Women's Rights.
Also will be in Linx tomorrow.
Thank you, Doug.

Many of our Jewish friends have pointed out that they listen to Christian prayers all the time without getting offended.
I've never gotten grief for wishing "Merry Christmas" to Jewish friends.
Likewise, my knickers never got twisted if any of them wished me "Happy Hanukkah."
Yes, I've known some of them.

Thank you for putting into words what I feel.
