The stupid thing that can work, no kidding. Replace the gas cap. My 2006 Kia just pulled the hinky air system error code on me and it was the gas cap. If it works it ain't stupid. But get factory or GOOD OEM. Don't go cheap.
Unpleasant! If you were closer, I could take a crack at eliminating the error codes with my e-tools.
