So, this happened a few weeks ago.
(FYI, I have no idea who Cleotha Abston is. Also FYI, human beings are primates.)
Having been called all kinds of uncomplimentary things in my 61 years – especially during my online life - the only thing I found mildly offensive from this guest was being called fat. Needless to say, I’m very happy that it’s not attracted to me.
In high school, I had a trigonometry teacher – let's call him Mr. Smith - who treated almost all his black students as if we had just walked straight out of the jungle.
Despite that being close to the truth in my case, I was very good at math, and I enjoyed all my previous and subsequent math classes. But for obvious reasons I hated this one. It was the only class that I occasionally cut; sometimes I just didn’t feel like putting up with that fat bastard (no offense to my friends who struggle with their weight).
One instance is memorable. Mr. Smith wanted a student to come up to the board and convert the quadratic formula to the quadratic equation. No one raised a hand, so I blurted out “I know how.” Failing to raise my hand before talking was one of my little forms of defiance.
“Miss Ochieng, you weren’t even in class that day.”
I shrugged my shoulders and went up to the board. I did it, showing all my work and checking it. Then I tossed the chalk onto the tray, sat down, and looked at him. (I had learned how in a junior high math class.)
“Miss Ochieng has done the conversion correctly and has shown her work,” he announced without looking at me.
At the end of that semester, I received a B (letter grade), an S (satisfactory in work habits) and a U (unsatisfactory in cooperation).
I was rather proud of that U, but my mom was incredulous.
“How did you get a U in cooperation in a math class?”
“Mom, that guy is a jerk, and I wasn’t shy about letting him know it!”
“Oh, okay.”
“Jerk” was definitely not the word I was thinking of, but 15-year-olds can’t say asshole in front of their moms. Well, at least I couldn’t.
A few years ago, I had the highly amusing online experience of being called the “white man’s whore” and a “bitter black who hates whites” within the space of a week.
There’s no pleasing some people.
Race-baiting is a spiritual issue as I indicated in this post.
[T]here are 70 nations in this world. To modern ears, the word nation conjures what is properly called nation-state. But nation in the biblical context refers to ethnic groups. Some of these [ethnic groups] have developed separate languages, histories, customs, etc. over the centuries and consider themselves distinct from each other, but have the same spirit, nonetheless.
Each nation has listened or hearkened to the corresponding spirit that rules over it and continues to do so.

What we are seeing in front of us right now is an escalation of a war in the spirit world.
Black persons (and any others; my guest, for example) who are outside of the circle of protection provided by the Most High are prone to the spiritual whispers of God’s enemies – the principalities and powers which rule over the nations other than His allotted nation. These powers are particularly nasty and require blood sacrifices in parody to the blood spilled by Jesus the Christ on behalf of all humanity.
With these things in mind, I don’t get upset or ashamed when someone points to the primitive cultures of the African continent or how many black Americans have reverted to that nature. It isn’t as if nearly all nations/ethnic groups don’t have a savage, primitive past – especially those which were separated geographically from other cultures like most of black Africa was for millennia. And let’s not forget: Africa had been plundered by the Ottoman Empire, other Islamic entities and kingdoms long before the Europeans and the Americans arrived to get in cahoots with indigenous plunderers.
It is my opinion that Christianity has been a civilizing factor everywhere. And now that we are falling away …
Interesting find on Twitter: a trove of letters by journalist David E. Reed documenting his 1950s observations when visiting Kenya, Congo, Tanzania, Tanganyika.
For non-Hebrew cultures, back in ancient times and not-so-ancient times, human blood sacrifices to gods who are not Yahweh were the rule rather than the exception.
Yahweh chose a particular nation and gave them rules of behavior toward each other. He required the sacrifice of lambs, goats and other animals, not human beings – in contrast to the other nations.
The only human being He allowed to be sacrificed: Himself. “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” This was the context of John the Baptist’s observation when his cousin came to him to be baptized.
Before the 1960s, black Americans were mostly married adults and mostly Christian. This afforded God’s hedge of protection around us – not necessarily around our bodies but around our spiritual state. With the splintering of the nuclear family, that protection is almost gone. Seeming insanity, violence, and depravity are trampling into our spirits and, therefore, our reality.
Earlier this year, I posited that God allowed our ancestors to go into captivity in the Western hemisphere - specifically in the USA - to separate us from the occult practices along the western part of Africa. And that part of the separation included the sundering of names which reflected their worship of gods other than Himself.
Pondering the upswing of violent mobs mostly composed of black youth, I am reminded of something else I continually point out ...
All mobs are demonic in that the individuals in the given mob feed off the energy of the other members. That energy is always violent.
Spiritual attacks sometimes come directly from the source, but, other times, they come from people in the physical world. Such people are only conduits, the means through which the source of the attack -- the Devil -- sends his munitions -- his demons.
Think of such people as rocket launchers. God uses people and, since Satan is a mimicker of God, he uses people, too.
And Satan does this one thing very often: he deploys a Legion.

We rarely think about this, but nation-states and ethnic groups are subject to the spiritual forces of the actions of their past: of their foundations, their good deeds, and their crimes. And those nations and groups will feel the effects of its crimes in particular throughout the generations unless one of two things happen: God intervenes and/or a nation or ethnic group repents of its crimes and embeds that repentance into national body and does so on its own.
Carcass worship – worship of the flesh and/or some aspect of the flesh - is, like its founding father, a shapeshifter. Sometimes it’s racial supremacism, other times various forms of pride, and still others the attempt to illicit shame. Hatred of the other. Covetousness. All of these lead to one place: destruction – and not just of the flesh.
This is always the case. Always. With the blood-sacrificers and lynch mobs of yore, with the hoards of rampaging young criminals of today, and with people like my guest. It seems like insanity, but it’s not. It’s demon possession.
Therefore, I’ve long since ceased to get angry when some poor soul tries to race-bait me. Consider who they belong to.
AFTERTHOUGHT: America, the EU, the UK, and Russia are probably neck-to-neck as the historical leaders in human sacrifice (abortion). Is it any wonder that all four places are in spiritual, physical, and economic chaos?
UPDATE: Welcome, Instapundit readers! Un-paywalled.
For some reason, I cannot edit this post, but I want to add China to the Afterthought. A monstrous omission.
You are reaching the unbelievers, and the worst, those who do not want to believe. It is hard for me to not harden my heart against them, and yet I know Jesus died for them if they only accept it.
