Be sure to listen to my Dahomean series. Two today and four more - one each day afterward. I promise that I will get better at enunciation as I go along! There’s also an old post from five years ago. (I’ve found that a lot of my old stuff has never been seen by many sets of eyes!)
I have two more essays in the works. One is something I’ve long observed about the old TV show Firefly and the other will be a review of a specific movie; the movie is very long.
Time and money are the keys. I must pay rent in the next few days, for this month and for December. So, I must decide which to cover. Do I spend three hours watching this movie, another hour or so writing about it? Or do I go out and DoorDash and put my landlord off again? Driving delivery in California has its own conundrums.
I hope that you readers can help make that decision for me. I have a great number of new subscribers, mostly free, and that’s fine. I received a lot of criticism for pay-walling a small minority of original content that I put a fair bit of work into – the pay walls are now removed - and I want to keep taking the chance that enough readers will find my missives and podcasts worthwhile enough to voluntarily contribute money. That is up to you.
Two months of rent = $2800. Just so you know, my retirement covers one month'.
If you can’t afford a contribution, please share one or more of my offerings with those who can! Thanks and God bless.
I've upped my subscription, hope that helps. Perhaps others will be encouraged to do so, as well?
BTW, I am very curious about your insights w/ r: Firefly
Sorry I can't help any more, Juliette, but I've got extra expenses beyond belief this month, not including Christmas (plumbing, appliance repair, etc.). I pray God multiplies what you receive to meet your needs.
