Like people who fake their own deaths to lead a new life on some Caribbean island? Not far fetched at all, and certainly true in some cases. And maybe this: The people who make these decisions are mostly rich, somewhat godless, and have little connection to ordinary people, except to look on with condescension. Untethered to the reality of daily necessities, the winds aloft at their altitude are blowing a different direction than the winds here on the ground.
