A former friend called my old neighborhood a ghetto - not because of its looks or the behavior of its residents but because the businesses in the area had theft protection devices.
These were features of my old house.
That former friend owes me money, which isn’t a big deal. What is a big deal: he severed contact and I know he isn’t dead. Talk about ghetto!
Much more recently, another former friend referred to my present neighborhood as a ghetto without having seen it! My very-integrated neighborhood had a few bad and dangerous apples - pun intended - during the plandemic, but they’re gone now. However, I made the mistake of telling this person about it.
That person also cut off contact, which is fine. After all who wants to be looked down upon by someone pretending to be your friend? I got enough of that crap in junior high school.
Blessedly, God has provided me with new friends - real ones. One of them lives within walking distance and shares things with me from his “ghetto” abode. This and much more.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
God’s gardening methods are pretty radical and sometimes painful. But one can’t deny the fruit.
More yummy food pictures later.
I'm always glad when God does His weeding in my life. One still hurts...our youngest daughter. For 10 years she has not contacted us. She's gotten married, has a 6 yr old granddaughter (our only other is a 24 yr old grandson so we waited a long time and haven't even been able to meet her). But God knew what we needed to have peace in our lives. And He has added so much joy bringing us kids, grandkids from around the world who delight in our love. They want to be in our lives and it's a golden opportunity for us to share God all over the world.
Your old friend owes you money? Tell old friend it's "ghetto" to not pay you back; then you'll need less donations.
Glad to help with sound advice. 😊
