I have nearly no social media footprint. An old LinkedIn account, not logged onto since retirement, and an account on Nextdoor. And then, blog comments over the past twenty or so years. No smartphone and no IoT appliances, but I do not delude myself that I am invisible.
If anything I will appear as a moving null wherever I go... because lack of footprint does not mean lack of presence. And also, like you I have a long history with the government via DoD. So even though retired I do not expect that I have somehow disappeared from their sight. As a vet, and as a member of the NRA and GOA, I have no doubt that I am on several lists.
